P–Promise

I promise my visitors and followers there will be ten more posts during this April A-Z Blogging Challenge. But I have a challenge of my own. Can anyone give me something more exciting than x-ray or xylophone for the letter X? I’m not having any luck thinking of something interesting for that letter.

The word promise, on the other hand, turns out to have promise. There’s the promise of spring bringing warmer weather, rain for our thirsty land, and awesome colors that make me gasp.

I’m keeping a promise to myself to continue this A-Z blogging challenge. My baby grandson will be one year old in May, and I’ve promised to visit his far-away home. So far, I’ve kept my promise to walk each week with my walking group and read the book for my book club. I hope I can continue to keep those commitments along with my promise to care for my mother as her health declines. My promise to my husband to cook healthy meals every day is already in partial collapse.

All of us have commitments, duties, and responsibilities. We make promises to others and to ourselves. Let’s not fee stressed and guilty when we can’t fulfill all of them all of the time.
