Branching Out

I am starting a new blog based on one of my favorite retirement activities, hiking the many trails of the Kansas City metropolitan area. Every week a small group of friends and I walk a different trail and then find a place for lunch. We’ve discovered hidden gems in our city, and every hike teaches one or more of us something about the city we didn’t know. We’ve gone north, east, south, west, and central and thus have learned about the farthest suburbs as well as the center city.
Sometimes we visit a new area which is so attractive that we spend more time gawking or shopping or learning than we do actual walking for exercise. Not to worry–that’s part of the adventure. By the way, the Trolley Track Trail in midtown Kansas City is part of the setting for my soon-to-be-published cozy mystery novel, Catastrophic Connections.
Please visit the new blog and recommend it to your adventure-loving friends in the K.C. area or beyond. Hiking K.C. Trails at
