First RV Journey

R and I took our new vacation home (Fifth Wheel RV) to a campground in Columbia, Missouri this week. It was R’s birthday. Therefore, (after we packed the truck with food, cats, litter pan, cat food, clothes, towels, dishes, etc., drove to the RV storage area, packed the RV, drove the first block, stopped to check that we had plugged in the RV brake lights, drove the 125 mile distance stopping only several times to check the cats and the RV, arrived at the campground, leveled the RV, unhooked the truck, and calmed the kitties–one of whom had gotten herself caught in one of the closets during one of the stops) we went out to eat a very nice meal and bought a couple of bottles of good wine at Les Bourgeois Winery Bistro in Rocheport, Missouri.

The next day was cloudy and cool, but we were able to enjoy the RV and visit two more wineries in the area. The evening was rainy and didn’t leave us the option of grilling out that we had planned. However, our RV has an electric fireplace and a decent TV; so we spent a cozy evening eating takeout, checking our e-mail, reading, and watching the fire and the TV for a while. All in all it was a successful camping trip.
